Enzymes such as hyaluronidase which facilitates both absorption and disperal of other substances. Many venoms contain hyaluronidase to increase the efficacy of the venom. Many enzymes are similar to catalysts in chemistry in that the facilitate the action without being part of the chemical reaction taking place. Most of the enzymes have names ending in "ase' and the root word often signifies the chemical or protein they act upon...so we have lactase, maltase, which act on lactose (milk-sugar) and maltose (malt sugar).
