i was driving my rav 4 1998, i was going 65 kph and the truck made a wierd noise,like a grinding, screaching noise for about 2 seconds, then the motor died out, and prestone started to leak out. Now the truck turns over but doesnt start... i do find it sounds funny though when you try and start it... and ideas what happened? the odeometer just turned 200 000 :(

I would check the timing belt. Some of the cars use the timing belt to drive the water pump too, and if the pump took out the belt, or if the belt took out the pump, it doesn't matter, the end result is the same. Replace the Timing Belt along with a NEW water pump (NOT rebuilt).

wow that could be so many things. but most likely you got a fan radiator hose fight on your hands. then you drove it more so you may have engine damage. open the hood and look for torn or ragged hoses near the fan. if nothing there you may have lost a bearing in the water pump. its on the front of the engine and should have a belt running to it or around its pully. i would go to autozone.com and get into the trouble shooting link as they will have step by step tests and R&R. good luck hope nothings real messed up.

You probably broke a rod or blew a head gasket. Both are major and you should shop around salvage yards for a used engine.
