One guy proposed me a small deal. He said that I will receive a paycheck with my name on it. If I cash it and send him money via Western Union he will pay me some money. He said he is in UK and it is not possible for him to cash the check in the UK. Does anybody know if it is dangerous to agree for this deal or not? What are the possible consequences?

oh my gosh, don't you ever ever do it. I was a banker for some time, and so many people have gotten burned on that particular scam. The check is fraudulant, if you send him money, you are going to be out ALL OF IT! Please protect yourself! Not only was I a banker, it happened to my brother in law, and he was out 4000 dollars.

This is the old Nigerian bank scam. Thousands of greedy people have lost their money by doing it. When the bank cashes the check, the money goes against your account. When the bank tries to get the money from the UK bank, the account is closed, so you are stuck for the loss.

It is a scam.

The check is either counterfeit, forged or altered. You cash it, send him the money and a few weeks later the check is returned as fraudulent. You owe your bank the money and you get arrested for taking part in the scheme.

Don't do it!

You probably won't see your money and you could possibly end up in trouble for cashing a fraudulant check. I would say when it comes to money matters, don't make other peoples money problems your own

It's an old scam that some people still fall for. The check won't be legitimate. Don't do it. You'll lose money on this one!
