When pondering a question in morality and ethics I sometimes use a simple thought experiment to help me visualize the implications of the question:
What if everybody did it every time?

In this case:

What would the effect on society be if every unwanted pregnancy were terminated?

While I give you credit for your creativity you put into your derogatory comment, my rebuttal is a simple piece of logic.

All abortions are unwanted pregnancies, but all unwanted pregnancies are not necessarily aborted.

The effects on society would be fewer children living in poverty, less child abuse, fewer families on government subsidies, less crime, etc.

Good question, I think that many Dr. and Lawyers would have been aborted but so could the next Hitler, so it is just depends. Bottom line is abortion is a pee poor means of birth control, but it is a moral decision and the government has no business making moral decisions as that has to come from ones upbringing and education. It is just wrong for a government to legislate morality.

Avatar said there would be no more liberals in a few generations. I actually heard a Liberal sociologist state that lower birth rates in liberal areas was causing a shift toward conservatives in the population. He didn't seem to see the abortion connection.

Population control, more high school graduates, less poverty, less crime, lower housing costs. There are a few for you. Of course, you did qualify that by saying 'unwanted'.

We would not have children to follow us. Society will not longer exist after the last person died.;
