I would recommend getting the prescription from your DR. DON'T just order it online or something (i hear you can do that somehow). I am currently on 50mg on days 3-7 and i am not being monitored quite yet. I have a couple more weeks before i can take a test to see if it worked. My Dr said that if it didn't work, he thinks my body may respond better to 100mg, and when i do that...he wants to "monitor me" by bringing me in on day 13 or so to see if an egg has developed on my ovary. It's not really that important to see your doc during the low milligram rounds. The thing is, they would eventually want to start monitoring you, because you realy should only try clomid for 6 months i hear. And you rarely EVER want to go over 200mg. Therefore, i think lots of docs choose to monitor just so they can make the most out of the short time we are allowed to use it. For example, it would be silly if i started taking 100mg next month, and he didn't have me in for an egg check (ultrasound). What if for some reason it was never releasing an egg?...I'd never know it, and the doc would just continue to have me on the 100mg. When he really should be taking me to the next level...either a higher dose, an HCG shot, or IUI. My sis is an RN for an OBGYN and her doc refuses to prescribe clomid unless you do EVERYTHING else...the shots and the IUI (inserting the sperm directly into the uterus). I think this is a little excessive--IUI's are a few hundred dollars and who's to say the clomid won't work on it's own. Some docs are just scared because the clomid can dry up your cervical mucus (preventing pregnancy) and want to go the ALL or NOTHING route and make you take every step. Please email me if you have any more questions. I am going thru the same thing....and i know this was a lot of info at once. Good luck!

it might be,
you want to take clomid to have a baby I presume
but it can also be the reason why you don't see that baby 18th birthday, I know my comment is harsh but I took clomid
and the short term effects are horrid to leave with
and the long term or future effect can be life treating
if you read about Clomid you have also read about different testimonials from women who has taken it
It will a bad thing to do to yourself if you take it without consulting with a doc, you will need a doc to monitor you for any growth that might happen with your uterus (by doing a monthly Ultra sound)
