First subtract 5 from both sides: -3x = -15
Then divide by -3: x = 5

-3x+5=-10 (subtract 5)

-3x=-10 - 5

-3x=-15 (divide by -3)

x = -15/-3

x = 5

x=5 because the two negatives cancel

-3x+5-5=-10-5 -----isolate the variable do the same thing to both sides
-3x=-15/-3 ---------- isolate the variable again negative/negative + postive
x=5

=5 sry cant explain very much but since -3x5=-15+5=-10
