Well, there are three tanks for bettas that I really can't decide on.

The first is an Imagine Betta Bowl Kit. It comes with gravel, a silf plant, food, and a chlorine neutralizer, plus a 1/2 gal. drum bowl (Of course.) It costs $7.49.

Then there is the Marina Betta Kit. It is first of all, very colorful. It comes with a plant, gravel, food, and chlorine neutralizer, and of course, a half-gallon rectangular tank. It costs $14.99.

Then there is the Imagine Premium Goldfish bowl. It is one-gallon. It comes with a how-to guide, a plant, gravel, food, & water conditioner.

Which should I get for my betta?

Get the imagine premium, it's bigger, has a how-to-guide (always handy for a new beta owner) it is priced in between the two smaller ones (so it's like double the real estate for less price, and even though betas can live in a 1/2 gallon container, they could use the extra room. My beta is 2, for one year he lived in a small 1/4 gallon beta hex thing, then a 1/3 gallon bowl, now he is in about a 3/4 gallon bowl and very happy, healthy and vibrant. my roomie's beta lived about 1.5 years in a 2 gallon and was not very happy. so I guess .75 to 1 gallon is good for them. The do live naturally in rice paddies which during droughts can leave them in little mud puddle...so go with the 1 gallon and see how he does.

Go for the gl or bigger. Despite what the claims are that betta's can live in a bowl, they have needs like any other animal. Anything less is cruel and closer to swimming in the toilet bowl. And make sure it has a lid, Betta's will jump! Any bug flying overhead or hovering is snack time and more then one has had a sad ending that way! :(

I would get the Marina betta kit because I have a lot of bettas and I tried putting him in a small tank and he was squished and then I put him in a big tank and he was unhappy too. so my betta has been living for a few years now and he is so happy that I baught him the median tank!

HELLO!!!! Is this tank for a BETTA I assume? I know they say bigger is better but honestly in a BETTA's world...size doesn't matter. They thrive in small scoops of water. Weird huh? I know we think it's cruel when we see the bettas in a small cup size bowl @ the pet store but really that's what they are used to. I say pick the one that's gonna give you easier access for cleaning & better veiwing of how your fishy is doing. Do they have the ones where the bettas can live next to each other? Like asmall divider in the middle? Those are ideal I think. Then you can see the fish flaring their gills when they notice another betta for their neighbor....or you can alway put a small mirror next to it so it can see it's reflection & hiss @ himself. GOOD LUCK!

Honestly, betas can live in anything. If I was you I would go for the $7.49 one. I have a betta and I did not even buy a tank for it. I have it in a glass bowl.

Really I think the last one or the second one you mentioned. Think of *how big does it need to be.
*Is it what I was lookin for.
*will it be able to be used again after a couple of years.
*is it at a good price that its useful.
*is it going to benefit what I need it to do.
(Note) Make sure that it is good quality. Also you can ask people that may have betta or had one and what it required and will the tank you pick be useful.
HOPE I HELPED YOU! GOOD LUCK!!

Listen to Tiki and Jet - if cost is such a problem, wait til you have to start treating him for fin rot and ich in those death traps you're deciding on. Medication costs a lot more in the long run than a few bucks would today.

For a few bucks more, if you upgrade to a 5 gallon kit like Jet suggested, it has a filter you won't have to change the water as often.
