You probably just got some type of notice. You can't be evicted without a court order.

If you don't comply with the notice, the landlord will file in court to have you evicted ... but that does not mean they will win.

This depends on the state you are in ... most likely you have 30 days from the day you received the notice... check with your local town offices general assistance office they can tell you that.

You may even have longer if it is an illegal eviction (notarized just means it was a witnessed signature on the notice.) If the town can't help a lawyer can, most will give a short free initial office call and some advice

It depends on the state. Most require a court procedure if you fail to leave, but California, for example, allows a landlord to proceed without going to court if he has given the required notice.

If the notice means anything at all, it will tell you when you have to move before they file a lawsuit and ask for the sherrif to remove you.

If it doesn't say that, you basically have until you get a notice that does tell you that.
