how long should i wait?...?

this girl just broke up with her boyfriend.(1 yr relationship). i want to try to ask this girl out. how long should i wait before i start hinting anything? she is a pretty good friend btw.

I think she needs you to be her good friend right now. She probably had strong feelings for that ex. If your heart is pushing you though, tell her how you feel about her as a friend and being more than a friend. However, you need to be aware that she is vulnerable and emotional, plus the ex doesn't always stay the ex--meaning it might not be definitely over between them. If you make yourself available as her new boyfriend, she might end up using you intentionally or unintentionally. Eventually, you two may not have that good friendship anymore. Start hinting now see how she reacts, however you don't want to be the rebound guy or the guy she uses just to make the old boyfriend jealous. Once you feel her vibe I'd make that perfectly clear. Remember, you started as friends so it may be sort of weird @ first crossing that line over to bf/gf. Good luck.

don't jump in too fast, or you'll be the transition man, or rebound guy or whatever its called. She'll need some time to get over her last guy. You don't want to ruin a good friendship by pressuring her into anything she is not ready for. You never know, she may suprise you by asking YOU out
