I love the South...live there! Born and raised here, and plan to die here (but that's in another 70+ years.) I'm reppin' the Lone Star State of TEXAS!!!
My top picks are all of them, except VA, FL, and KY.
Each state in the South has its own character: Texas has more of a western can-do-will-do spirit; Arkansas has hot springs; Louisiana has Cajun culture and gumbo; Mississippi has gorgeous piney woods; Tennessee, country music; Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas have beaches and mountains; Kentucky has the bluegrass and horse farms; Virginia is packed with history; Oklahoma is a lot like Texas, except smaller. Florida is basically Cuba north.
Not to mention, the food, hospitality, neighborly people, and great climate make this the best region in which to live. However, VA and FL have too many yankee transplants, and are really boring outside the major tourist areas. I used to live in KY and did not find the people helpful or neighborly at all, and its winters are cold!

not really. from the south that i've experienced (georgia, alabama, south carolina) people can be friendly-----generally if you're white and highly conservative or protestant. Im half asian-----Once I met an elderly women from virginia and she was like "once I knew an asian person. he was a good boy" Generally people are not very openminded. In Georgia, I heard a white man call an African American a "negroe."
Elementry school kids go to birmingham, alabama to visit the old confederate capitol building....and then march out with confederate flags.
Although i know there are some open ppl, the majority of the midwest and south tends to be separated in social class and race. Not a whole lot of diversity one would find in a northern state or western ones.
From the point of view of someone having lived in NY and California, we look very much down on that middle part of america. In fact most couldn't even tell you where oklahoma or virginia is.....we just dont care about those racist parts of the country.

Tennessee the most beautiful state. South Carolina, can't explain it but it gives me a high. To me there is a ghostly feel in the air. Mississippi has some of the warmest and friendliest people. Unlike you, I do like northern Florida. Texas is far by the most diverse state in the south. Sure, if Oklahoma is south, then you defiantly left out Missouri. Missouri may be one of the most underrated states in the union.

WOW! You rock! The South is freakin awesome! I don't care what people think about the South. If they have been here and they still don't like it, then that is their problem, but I have been up north many, many times, and I hated it. The people were so rude and they made fun of my acenct(spelling?). I was born in Dallas, Texas, and I currently live in Greeneville, Tennessee. Yes, it is GreenEville. Oh, and one more thing for all of you yankees, we Southerners do know proper English, but we don't think that we are better than everyone else. Thus, we have no real need to use it! Besides, I speak American, not English!

I'm kinda partial to Virginia. I've lived there all my life, and not in the boring part. If the president invites me to lunch at the White House, I can walk there. I'd like Florida better if they'd get rid of those palm trees and get some real shade trees, but we actually had a hurricane here once and I saw what happened to the shade trees. I was on a plane once that stopped in Dallas and then Portland. I noticed that the girls in Portland weren't nearly as pretty as the ones in Dallas, but then it occurred to me that they were wearing a lot more clothes.

I absolutely love the south! We are friendly and hospitable. Nothing compares to our southern hospitality! We have our flaws just as all areas do but I wouldn't want to be anything other than a southerner. Tar Heels all the way!

Is this direction??
Am I a director to choose the direction??
You need to ask a film director for the better direction for your answer.
