20% for average to good service. they make $2.13/hour. after taxes, that's $0. 15% was in the 80's you cheap f@#$s!!! 25% if it's extraordinary. it's always the 15%ers who run the servers too. people should all work in a restaurant for 2 days before they're entitled to eat in one.

For really great service you will want to give more than the typical 15% which is expected. 20% to 30% would be more appropriate.

For great service, I go 20%. Besides, it's easier to figure out than 15%.

Typically I will tip 20% for good service. If service has been excellent, and I have been given preferential treatment I might go as high as 30%.

20% is said to be the tip for GREAT service.

15% is said to be the tip for GOOD service -- some people tip
15% just as standard operating procedure.
I know someone who tips 10% and we all consider him a
scrooge.

The "standard" is 15 percent, but I'm generally closer to 20 percent. Especially for very good food and service.

Its usually 10-15% at restaurants but if you thought that you recieved great service, I would bump it up to 20% because if the waiter worked hard enough to make your stay exceptional, he/she deserves a little extra.
