i play hockey and i usually play as early as 5:45 in the morning and i need something to wake up. that is what rockstars are for. it is always fun to branch out and get something different than that like red bull, monster, vault, just plane old mt. dew, and occasionally, starbucks mocha frapuccionos. if u are like me and have games in the morning, MAKE SURE TO EAT BREAKFAST!!! it is the most important thing in the world. it either makes u or breaks u. just eat some bread or something like that. just a little helps a lot. if u have games after school, if u have time, also take a nap. they are the greatest. but, u wake up all groggy, then drink the red bull or what not.

WATER!!! Don't drink any of those power drinks. Yes, they will give you a high, but not for very long. And once you are drained of energy (after 1st period), you will just need another on.

Eat a good meal or snack not later then an hour before game time. And make sure you get a very good night's sleep. And lots and lots of water.

How do I know? I am a 14 year old goalie.

I'm a goalie, and i drink half a can of sprite before every game. I guess that's more for luck than energy though. Get some of those power bars they have everywhere now. Eat some pasta, too, it's good stuff.

Try a whey powder protein shake, it adds protein and energy, and will not make you feel too full (because is low in carbs).

There are many ready-to-drink brands and most taste great, but I prefer to prepare mine at home (I add some fruit) and take it with me in a plastic bottle.

I drink one before going cycling, and works great for me.

VAULT.. GET TO IT works great
adrenaline also works so try to get it pumping by listening to pump up music or watching some pump up pro hockey games that really make you want to play.

a can of energy drink really does the trick, maybe two, but not much more then that. take it before, during and after the game, it really helps me so i wouldn't know why it wouldn't work for you as well!!

Don't try any of those dumbass caffeine drinks from 7-11. They're all junk. Take EPHEDRINE - you can buy it at the health food store. Take one with coffee and you'll be speeding. Trust me.
