I've been dating my guy for a little over a year now and I know he really cares about me now but what are the signs that he might actually love me?

Look into his eyes.
Does he seem happy with you?
I'm deeply in love with my fiancee, and when I asked her how she knew I was in love with her, she told me she could tell when she looked into my eyes, and that I was always smiling when I was with her.

Well, the fact that he's around for a little over a year, is a good sign. Guys stay around for a lot of reasons, but not for that long. Pay attention to what he does for you... Is he willing to be there for you? Does he do small little things to help you out, even though he doesn't have to?Does he call and let you know what's going on with him? How often does he call? Focus on how he prepares himself when you are going to be around. Does he get a little spiffed up... and I don't mean dressed up... but does he make sure he is clean, teeth brushed, maybe some aftershave or something... or is he all wearing his pants from yesterday and nonchalant? What about on special occasions, Valentine's, your birthday... what kind of things has he done or gotten you... it's not a sign of LOVE if he remembers these dates, but it's certainly a good sign.
If you decide by after looking at all these things that you feel he may love you try asking. And if your nervous about asking... You don't have to be direct, you can easily do the girl thing and turn it around. LOL

Not all guys know how to show their love and talk about loving you.
Love is unconditional, it can't be measured by any form. Sometimes it just have to go by your own feelings and what exactly you want and also how much you love, treasure and wanted to be with him. The kind of feeling is really good.

Love means different things to different people. I'm always surprised when people think there is one universal definition.
So a question back at you: Do you love him? How do you know?

You can ask him... You can assume he loves you, but you won't really know until he tells you that he does.

you've been dating THAT long? you should be able to ask him point blank. otherwise, look at how he treats you. how does he make you feel special?
