I would guess business days. Are you sure you have the right to rescind the contract? Unless the contract states that you do, there are very few specific types that you can.

In the State of California it is always business days.
Therefore, if you sign a contract on Friday, you have until Wednesday to cancel it by Certified Mail.

Days on the contract depends on what was agreed upon upon. In the absence of any stipulation, the days are treated as calendar days.
