Truth is, communism is a pretty good governement system theoretically. Unfortunately when practiced in reality, it fails. Instead of the people governing themselves, one man seems to overpower the rest.....resulting to a monarchy, (dictatorship).
Ex. modern China
Theoretically, advantages are equality and fairness in the system, no authority.
Disadvantages in theoretical communism is the fact that some people are not fit to govern themselves, and no authority.
Disadvantages for communism in reality....everything....just look at how ****** up China is. While the rest of the world is advancing, they are going back in time. 98% of the population is in poverty. Mau and his associates are living in riches. Pure dictatorship...Theoretical communism is against everything Mau is doing.

Communism means exactly what it says commune ism , basically living as a single community . This has only ever happened in primitive hunter gatherer or herding ( possibly early subsistence farming ) societies . Even then there was still a leader so the idea that everyone was equal simply isn't true . Communism really stops being possible as soon as any sort of commerce exists . Socialism is a process of Marxism . Marx believed that a Utopian Communist society could be created in the modern world ( bear in mind how long ago he lived ) . Essentially the idea is that all the workers of the world unite and overthrow the establishment with violent revolution , then a period of Socialism will begin . This is called the dictatorship of the proletariat , it has to be a dictatorship to ensure everyone conforms to the new order . All wealth will be shared equally and eventually as everyone becomes equal , government will no longer be needed and cease to exist and we all live happily ever after . That's right folks , it's a f**king fairy tail . The fundamental flaws in the theory are , firstly what dictator will ever relinquish power ? None ever have , secondly if everyone gets the same no matter what they do , there is no reason to try , there is no progression . Essentially , Socialism is the society of the lowest common denominator , everyone is held back to the level of the slowest , the weakest and the stupidest .

Communism looks great on paper. Everybody works together and helps everybody else because they're all good people. No one is better than anyone else and every one lives a life of equality.
But it doesn't work out so well in practice. Leaders are often corrupt and make sure the system favors them and their friends. People who are gaurunteed the same amount of money no matter what won't work as hard. People like doctors and scientests often resent being paid the same as janitors and bus boys.

too many to list, but here are a couple:
advantages- everybody is equal
disadvantages - lazy people are equal to productive ones
If everybody is equal, who is in charge? Generally someone who gives themselves many privileges, thus recreating a "ruling class" that communism was supposed to be against in the first place.
read Animal Farm by George Orwell.

it's been awhile since I read "animal Farm" but that was about animals taking over a farm. ahh then they became as corrupt as the farmer they sought to overthrow. Get it now. Thought maybe you meant "1984" by that same author
