I hear the chipper chatter of the starlings in the afternoon,
as they fly with whirring wings in flocks of shiny black and gray.
The rustling leaves relax their hold, to fall upon the ground below
and crunch like salad croutons underneath the children's shoes.
The thud of football players as they rush, collide, and tumble
on the field behind the high school interrupts the autumn day.
They end as rain begins to pelt, and splatters down the window glass.
Then raindrops plop onto the roof, composing autumn blues.

Onomatopeia words: chatter, whirring, rustling, crunch, thud (possibly rush and tumble as well), pelt, splatters, plop.
Thanks! That was fun, and now I've got a poem for autumn, too.

Dry leaves rustle, the chill wind whistles and the rain drums against my window as Autumn rushes to replace summer.
