Sure, I can believe it.

He made the "confession" up. Most cops will tell you confessions are unreliable, just the way eyewitness testimony is unreliable.

This is why the cops and the prosecutors always insist on forensic evidence to back up witness statements and confessions.

From what they say on the news, even if he had been found guility on all pornography charges, he would have gotten off on time served. The only benefit would have been that by being found guilty, he would have had to be included on the child predator/molester list.
Well, yeah, that's nice, but really...so what. My only hope is that someone will beat the crap out of him soon after he is released and before he can hurt a child for real.

They also let him go becasue they think he fabricated the story. It seemed a bit odd that immediatley after being asked if he killed her, he just broke down and confessed to everything the investigators asked. Since they were unable to show that he was the killer via sufficient evidence, the DA decided that it was not worth pressing charges.

He was just a pawn in that case . Something else happened in Thailand he said that to come back to the states. Why else would you admit something like that and it not be true. It was to good to be true anyway, the media knows exactly what they are doing
