you can if you bend the mercury bulb so it only just kicks on at 90 when it is 70 degrees in the room. Fake them out it works better. Or turn off the heat and buy them a sweater!

hmmm no, but I assume you are having problems with others turning yours up? If so either buy a locked cover, or remove the control knob, or peg the knob at 68 degrees...(drill it out on both sides and peg it with a bolt in one spot

it would be cheaper to just buy a locking stat cover.....there like $10
