Concerning white flight...?

Why are so many whites so hypocritical, saying they support equality and love minorities, yet they move away when minorities start moving into the neighborhood?

Why can't they just be honest like me and admit that they don't want to live near minorities?

Also why legally can landlords not select their tenants on the basis of race? If certain ethnic groups are more predisposed toward crime, would the landlord be wise to rent to those who are less likely to turn their building into a drug house?

How much farther are whites going to flee until they start standing up for themselves and saying enough is enough? Do they not realize the minorities are going to follow them everywhere because they are incapable of creating good neighborhoods on their own?

Blacks and mexicans, unfortunately, are more predisposed to crime than whites, statistically speaking. Asians are less predisposed to crime than whites. These are facts.

Jim P is incorrect: the Fair Housing Act is not a constitutional amendment and is not Constitutionally protected. In fact no part of the Civil Rights Act is constitutionally protected, except for eliminating the Poll Tax (amendment 24).

Clivencheese you did not provide any sources to support your opinion that criminal behavior is 100% environment based. It sounds like you are equally guilty of espousing your opinion in the stead of facts regarding this.

Why do you say minorities plural? There's only one minority I know of that white people will move to get away from. I didn't make the world what it is, but I do observe it.

First, you say other races are predisposed to crime. They are not. It seems you're saying they are genetically more likely to commit crime. This is NOT the case. However, minorities are more likely to be poor and living in crime ridden areas; thus, in order to support a family and make ends meet, they have to engage in illegal behavior. Second, there's currently a trend that innercities are being re-junvinated. Whites aren't always fleeing but moving back in to minority dominated areas.

Third, what's a good community? When you know your neighbors? When you don't have to deal with crime? Many "white" communities don't have great social networks. While many black neighborhoods, for example (I'm thinking of several in Chicago), have a strong neighborly connection. People know each other and hang out more. Yes, there might be more crime there, but many black neighborhoods have other problems beyond crime. Like, houses that landlords refuse to upgrade or poor public transportion.

I respect that you admit to not wanting to live around minorities. But, your facts are not correct. They seem like opinions. I would recommend thinking about your opinions carefully; being white, you're not going to be able to live in an all white community for long and you'll be faced with it no matter what.

The situation a person grows up in predisposes them to a life of crime, not the color of their skin. If you grew up in south central Philly in an extremely poor family and everyone judged you based on something you don't even control, you'd be pretty likely to land in a gang yourself. It's ridiculous- our society puts so many minorities in an impossible situation, refuses to help them in any real way, and then uses that scenario that we've created as an excuse to hate them.

And that is why racial discrimination is illegal. The reason that racial minorities are more disposed to crime is because of their situations. If we actually gave them a chance at life- say, with an education system that works for _all_ economic levels and a job market that doesn't discriminate against certain skin colors (yeah, I know it can't happen legally, but an employer can come up with all sorts of reasons not to hire a black guy)- then I can guarantee that the crime rates between the races would equalize.

you question is real crappy guy. what minorities are predisposed to crime? Blacks? they are not. most of those people are hard working and decent, like anyone else.

no one should be allowed to rent on the basis of race only, but i support neighborhood restrictions if people want to keep things a certain way

for my first house i lived between a house with about 9 Mexicans in it and a house with 1 white guy. i loved the Mexicans, they spoke very broken English but I would chat with them a bit and found out the parents were the first generation to come to the U.S they were not drug dealers or anything like that, they were very hard working family orientated people. i helped them with a few things, and they helped me with a few things. the white guy was a different story, he was a redneck...a definite piece of white trash. one time i came home, him and a few buddies were sitting on his front stoop with no shirts and drinking booze at like 5pm in the middle of the week. trash all over their yard, beer bottles in their yard AND mine.....i was pissed. i picked all them up and right in front of them threw them back into their yard and told them to keep their trash to themselves. and many times they would have their stereo blasting with their crappy redneck music at 3 am. across the street from me was a white family, kept to themselves pretty much, one day i got up and was going to go to work, the side of my car was smashed, long story short their daughter did it and didn’t fess up till an investigator called. now who would you rather live next to? i don’t care what color or ethnicity you are as long as you are decent, neighborly and keep your yard looking nice. we moved a little later because we wanted a larger home. the neighbor hood is nice, crime free and i couldn’t tell you the make up. there are whites and nonwhites but i don’t know the percentage. In the 5 years we have been here there have been a total of 3 incidences in the neighborhood. 1 nobody knows who did it, one was something a group of white kids did and the other was something a white guy did.

I live in a mixed neighborhood. My latino neighbors are more uncomfortable with me than I am with them, I think, because so many of them are not here entirely legally, or they have relatives in that situation. But they make pretty good neighbors, a lot better than some rednecks I can think of.

As to the rest of your question - things change. America has not been "whites only" since 1964. Discrimination in housing and employment is against the law because it is unconstitutional.

Actually, any psychologist will tell you the greatest indicator of crime is poverty, not race.

White flight is often caused when minorities from poor neighborhoods are bussed to rich white schools in the name of diversity. F*cking government intervention. It brings down the quality of the schools. In other words, they don't neccesarily are moving because they are racist, but instead because they want good schools.

the premises you have based your questions on are wrong.

'white flight' can be based on many things, including ignorance (racism).
also no race is predisposed to crime, society may make a segment predisposed based on factors outside of race (education, opportunity, socially acceptable behavior)
many americans, black, white and every other color have become morally corrupted by the complete lack of a clear right and wrong in our government, school systems, churches, etc. the entitlement mentality is nearly as dangerous as the sheer stupidity of racism itself.
try and remember, the only race left is green. either your or you are not green. the only way to improve your greenness is to improve your education.
