Angels are created messengers of God. They are spiritual beings that help people on earth. In the case of Todaywiserthanyesterday, devils were once angels but rebelled against God. Sometimes when God sent angels to earth, they (even though they were neither male or female) would appear to human eyes as a male. Angels are certainly not God, who is Eternal.

Satan (aka The Devil) started out as an angel.

An angel is not a man or a woman or a god or God.
An angel is a spiritual (non-material) being, but a created being as opposed to God, who is uncreated.
There are also evil spiritual beings that we call demons or devils.

A circumstance can summon an angel. It is when you are helped through an adversity by a presence beyond your own understanding. Then there are people who step in at just the right moment and many believe that angels work through them, much in the manner of a channel. I'm not religious but i think they are mesengers of god. like the angel gabrial that told the shepherds to go see jesus in the stable? i dunno like i said its not my best subject.
Some people think that people, when they die, become angels and watch over us from wherever we go when we're gone i dont like that idea, i hope everyone i love that has died isnt waisting their time checking up on me and having a blast - wherever they are!
