a few mates of mine have decided to go darker for winter (hair) they are usually blondes or redheads, would you go darker for winter or would you prefer to stay the colour you have now...i dont see the point in darker, because the winter is dreary enough....darker or lighter ladies?

i have long blonde hair and a few years ago i dyed it dark(black/purple sort of colour) anyway when my roots started showing i didnt want to keep having to pay to get it dyed again so i tried to dye it back to its original colour. big mistake went orangey colour took ages to get it sorted out. im never going to dye it again

Well I'm staying a long haired bottle blond but that's more to cover the grey hairs! and winter is dreary enough anyway so staying my blonde colour for now and probably for years to come.

The idea is that your hair has probably had a hammering in the summer, from being coloured and from the sun. So you use a darker colour that doesn't use quite so many chemicals, and give it a rest 'til it's time 4 u 2 blossom again!

i have naturally really dark brown hair and have been dying it blonde for about 12 years.....i would never go darker again because my personality is more blonde than anything!!! And yes, i think winter is very dreary too so i would say do whatever you can to brighten it up, not make it worse!!!!!!

Alot of people just want to go darker because its a change and update in fashion trends. Not alot of people want to be "beach blonde" when there is snow on the ground.
I thought about going back to a darker hair color for winter. Its just for teh change thats all. :)

Keep it light!!Winter is dark and dreary enough as it is and the clothes you usually wear in winter are dark so having lighter hair brightens it up a bit!! x

Strange you should ask that. I just told someone today that I am going a shade or two darker next time I color. I always do that for winter. It is more natural-looking on me.

I went darker two winters ago - and have kept it ever since.
I think it looks more interesting and different - the world is full of blonde (dyed or natural) people.
And i'm now always getting compliments on how shiny/healty my hair is looking.

Whatever you feel comfortable in, just remember dying your hair dries it out and it is already dry in the winter so deep condition.

Go darker for winter and lighter for summer. Try chocolatey coloured or caramely coloured foils.
