The pen can make 1,000 men pick up a sword. Absolutely it is true, although in hand-to-hand combat I would prefer a sword become available. You can use a pen as a weapon too, but a sword has more reach.

Well if I've gotta be sliced - I would rather they used a pen than a sword!!

Plus whenever I make a shopping list with a sword I find it really difficult to follow!!

So I don't know about mightier but I certainly think pens are handier than swords!!

You couldn't write sword without a pen. Just a thought. Think I'll go and lie down...

Depends on what you are doing. For fighting dragons - go for the sword. For doing a crossword stick to the pen.

It all depends on the context you're analyzing. Yes, a pen can do more damage than a sword: it can literally kill, it can kill a career, it can end hope, it can spread gossips like a virus and many other things.

Literally, no. A sword will chop a pen in half any day.

However, the general concept holds true, I think. Ideas last far longer than military power, and have greater persuasive effect.

Absolutely! What you write about a person can be read/heard about by millions the sword is one swift blow and it is over. What is written lasts ages after you are dead and gone.
