Actually, there are four lakes that touch Michigan, but only three of the lakes touch both parts of the state of michigan. the three that touch both parts of michigan are Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and Lake Michigan. The lake that only touches one part of Michigan is Lake Erie.

There are four, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie. And, they don't just TOUCH Michigan, they are (partially) WITHIN Michigan. Michigan's borders extend out into the Great Lakes.

58.4% of Lake Michigan is within Michigan's borders
49.9% of Lake Superior is within Michigan's borders.
38.9% of Lake Huron is within Michigan's borders.
1.4% of Lake Erie is within Michigan's borders.

I should know this one , because I live in Michigan:, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron,and Lake Erie, and Lake Superior does not touch Michigan; it touch the the Upper Peninsula but is part of the Great Lakes

the finished lakes are portion of Michigan notwithstanding it would not contact illinois. There are a number of states that contact the finished lakes, like Illinois, notwithstanding the lakes are considered to hitch Michigan.
