Human beings find security in habit. Change makes them uncomfortable because it requires adjustment which forces people to make both mental and physical re-arrangements.
Adjustment requires adaptation. Adaptation, one of the principle components of human psychology is a measure of mental health.
The necessity for adapting to a new environment or even small change in one's old environment places some stress on a person. It requires a person to intake new perceptions, analyze one's environment further. This is all subconsious work we do without even knowing it.
Most people like everything to remain the same so that calm and peace will prevail in their lives, and they won't have to think too hard.

People fear change because it is the unknown. Ignorance creates fear, fear creates hostility and so forth. People become comfortable w/ the status quo. So, even when something changes for the better, it takes energy to accept it. There is the crux of the matter - it takes a bit of effort to accept change. People are lazy - and stupid people are the laziest and most dangerous.
Well, thanks, it's nice to get that off my chest.
Change is good - nothing ever stays the same, the only thing variable factors are the speed & degree of which things change.

People are afraid of change because they get comfortable with what they had before the change. Change can be good but, it leads you to areas you might not have been to in you life yet. Basically, your afraid of the unknown.

Because change brings uncertainty, which in turn means one has to learn something new to adapt. What if one fails to learn the new thing and that means change brings failure. Or some people are lazy to learn new things and are afraid change means the end of an easy life.

Some change is good , but most is bad. The change in technology and medicine is good but the change in the family and morals is terrible. Changes of those kinds destroys our nation.

those who're petrified of replace are not petrified of heights or water? it quite is absurd! each and every replace should be considered with utmost scrutiny and skepticism. the status quo is ordinary to be threat-free. Any replace has the opportunity of risk. If, after exhaustive deliberation, the replace is logically shown to strengthen the concern, it might want to be embraced, yet no longer earlier then. To do in the different case, is maximum unwise.
