i own a repair shop, and a bad throttle position sensor will cause this to happen ,also a idle air control valve will cause It to do this ,to be sure which one it is you need It have it scanned to know for sure,,auto zone will do It for free, and then you,ll know, the idle air valve Can be cleaned out,but the throttle position sensor will have to be replaced and calibrated to work properly on it,any good repair shop can do it if they have the equipment to do it with, good luck with it i hope this help,s.

it is automatically cooling your engine. engines get hot while just ideling, plus it may be charging your battery. as ideling uses battery power and only when your engine is going over a set rpm will it charge your battery. otherwise your alternator has to put out enough power to run your spark plugs, radio, a/c cd, etc.
