I thought i heard it somewhere. I believe the evidence is that there is a lizard that only females exist and they still reproduce young but they still need sexual stimulation with other lizards, and scientist believe that the human race could eventuly end up like that too.

no, that wouldn't work.

I don't believe I've heard that one... The truth is the male chromosome's length is actually shortening, but this is a relatively slow process. I believe they've probably just taken samples of DNA from our ancestors and compared them to the Y chromosome today and noticed the size difference.

Yes, there are a few animal species which just reproduce by parthenogenesis (where the females produce embryos without the fertilization of males). There aren't very many asexual animal species because there is more genetic variety when you have males and females in the population mixing the genes.

One species, a tiny crustacean known as Daphnia reproduces asexually during spring to rapidly increase their population. They switch to sexual reproduction with the males during the winter in order to produce a progeny that is more genetically variable and consequently more likely to withstand the harsh conditions (predation, limited food sources, temp., etc.).They are very interesting creatures to look at under the microscope and their method of survival is what fascinates me!

So I think our species will likely consist of both male and female counterparts for quite some time. 10000 yrs+ I should hope. But you have to wonder if the human race may become extinct before this time. I'm thinking our population will plummet and we'll eventually wipe out because of all the damage we have done/ or because of some worldwide disaster (a huge meteorite). Hopefully our knowledge will increase so dramatically that we'll be able to keep a moderate population level that is able to get along peacefully with the remaining environment. But who knows...I don't have to worry that far ahead cuz I'll be dead by then. hehe. Just being practical...

not completely. see most of the male chrommosomes will have mutated/evolved(means i think men and woman are almost equal) into the same as female. the rest of the men will have their hands full and all the male babies will be killled so they get the woman to themselves. so in about 50000 years males will be extinct but woman will have lesbo sax and some how make babies

this also is because womans eggs will have developed so they have full set of chromosomes rather than half so woman will just need to be stimulated at the right time. i predict this will happen in about 100,000 years

Well, I guess that is a
possibility.

However, I think it is
much more likely that
if we do not get out of
Iraq we will kill off all
young American Men,
and about a zillion Muslims
which should reduce the
available males in the human
race by a significant number.

Lord of the Lesbos, sounds like fun for the babes.
Of course the odds of our species not being extinct by then are remote to none.

No. The theory (and it has been done) is that males cells are no longer needed for cloning or other reproduction on a cellular level. It can all be done using female oocytes (or other female cells). So this may be what you heard?

My wager is that by 2055 all of us bypass up... on the instant fee of the activities, i'm notably useful its gonna blow around that factor. no longer likely because of the fact of human activities, maximum in all probability brought about by pandemics and organic mess ups.

I sure hope that this isn't true. Because if the human race becomes asexual, who's gonna take out the garbage? LOL!

Don't be silly. The invention of female sex droids that are FAR superior to the real thing will happen loooooong before then, causing all reproduction to cease.

that would be the end of humans. besides, even if women saved the sperm to make babies, half would be boys and we would have men again in 18 years
