Don't do it. It's a super stressful job, and you don't get paid nearly enough for it. All the responsibility falls on you if the store's not doing well, and you're always getting ragged on by someone above you.

stay out of retail if you can. Retail is a pain. I work in retail and although the managers have a better time than mere workers like myself, they have a lot of responsibility. You have to work on some holidays and a lot of weekends, and alot of late nights. You have to deal with crabby customers who don't agree with the store policy. Some stores have you on a salary which means you might end up working 5 10 hours shifts.

No, thank you. Too hard to find and retain employees with a strong work ethic these days. People expect to be paid handsomely for simply showing up (not necessarily on time, either.)
