Yes. When I was in the USAF, I was in a supermarket shopping, and some old geezer came by in a big yellow truck and rammed my motorcycle, sending it tumbling and spinning across the parking lot. The geezer gave me a hard time about his insurance information, too. And the policemen who make out the accident report knew him and were friendly with him, and rather cold toward me. He got away with it because he was friends with some county official who made contact with my Commanding Officer at work, and certain hints were dropped that I'd better drop the charges against the old guy.

My dad should have stopped driving before he hit somebody on the highway around Scottsboro, Alabama. I think his attention wandered and he strayed momentarily from his lane.

I know about other incidents that serve as examples of why older people should be regularly examined to ensure that they continue to possess the judgment, the traffic knowledge, and the coordination needed for safe driving, or else lose their licenses. And the AARP can go to hell if they don't agree.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. Old people should be made to give up the wheel when they get old. I would say at age 80. Logically their reaction, sight, hearing, mental quickness, reflexes and everything is slower. Bring in medication and illness like stroke or seizure and the risk goes up. It doesn't matter if a person under 16 can operate a car like a demon, they still cannot drive. There is a minimum age, there should be a maximum age. To not be hypocritical about it.

Yes they should. I have almost gotten hit by them more than once when walking through a store parking lot. Years ago I was pushing my baby through a store parking lot and headed out of it to cross the street when an elderly woman in a cadilac got too close to use and hooked the stroller to here tires and tore the wheel off my stroller. FORTUNATELY it came loose or my baby would have been killed. The really nice thing is how the 2 cars behind her didnt even stop to see if we were ok or do anything to signal her to stop her car. She should have gotten a ticket and had her license taken away.

Yes, I have almost been ran over, or in really bad accidents at least 20 times always by old people. They should have to take yearly extended driving test starting at the age of 50.
