Setting: Alagaesia
Main Characters/Brief Description: A fifteen year old farm boy, Eragon; Saphira, the dragon (who hatched for Eragon); Brom, the storyteller, who was a Rider until his dragon was killed; Murtagh, Eragon's friend (you find out in Eldest that he is his brother).
Main Conflict or Problem: Eragon must find a way to raise Saphira, then he must flee when the Razac try to kill him. He needs training to fight his enemies, but he needs to find the dwarfs, who have hidden. He also needs to learn the use of the ancient language, lest he destory himself by accident.
Resolution: Brom takes Eragon to track his uncle's murderers, and ends up training him of the way. As a Rider, he knows all the things Eragon needs to know to survive, though he still needs to complete his training with the elves. They rescue an Elf and she tells Eragon where the dwarfs are located, then they find the dwarfs and battle against the Urgals that are under the shade's spell.

Then there are his cousin, his cousin's girlfriend, an old man who helps him along his way and teaches him, an elf maiden that he saves, dwarves, including their king, rebel human forces. I'm sorry I'm can't remember their names right now - I don't have the book in front of me.

Basic plot - a 15 y.o. boy finds a dragon egg. Most draggon eggs have been destroyed by an evil kind who hoards the last ones. The one had been stolen from him and Eragon found it. So he becomes a fabled Dragon Rider and goes off on a quest to save the world from the evil king. In the process, he is hunted by the king's henchmen and rescues an elf maiden from one of the king's strong holds. The end of the book finds him in the dwarf stronghold where the rebellion against the king has its roots. There is a great battle there. The story is not resolved as it is the first in a trilogy which includes Eldest and as as yet unpublished book.

ok the main character is eragon of course. the setting is in ancient london i presume or maybe norway. eragon is a young boy raised in a small village by his uncle. eragon stumbles on a mysterious stone which later turns in a dragon egg. i wont go into any further detail there. main conflict or problem is where to hide the dragon that hatches and later in the story is how to keep him and the dragon safe from galbatorix's wraith. resolution is very good but i wont give the spoiler on that one very sorry.
