Im in 7th grade and i want to know how to do this problem for my hw plz explain and answer, 4x - 3 < 8x + 7?????

4x-3<8x+7
4x + -3 < 8x +7
+ 3 +3
4x < 8x + 10
-8 -8
-4x < 10
Divide both sides by -4
therefor
x < -2.5

To prove this statement is true, you have to change the < to = and then solve for "x"
