Christopher Walken was on the boat ... but it was Robert Wagner who was suspected of killing his wife, Natalie Wood.
See this website for the story: http://www.franksreelreviews.com/shorttakes/nataliewood/nataliewood.htm

The woman was not Christopher Walken's wife. She was his girlfriend. Her name was Natalie Wood, and she was the wife of Robert Wagner.

It wasnt his wife. He was on the boat when Robert Wagner's wife Natalie Wood went over.
There has always been suspicion because she was regarded as an excellent swimmer

He was present on the boat when Natalie Wood died. I believe she was still married to wagner at the time and it was rumored that they were having an affair. which of course fueled speculation that one of the two men may have been involved in her death.
