Republicans fell all over themselves to interfere with spousal rights in the Terri Schaivo case, susbstituting government bluster with the "sacred marital bond between man and woman". Turns out they were ALL WRONG, Ms. Schaivo's brain was unable to funcation at even the most basic level and her husband was perfectly correct to follow her many doctor's analysys.

Senate Leader and DOCTOR Bill Frist even went as far as to diagnose that the doctors were wrong (after viewing a heavily edited video) and proclaimed that his Medical opinion was that Terri Schaivo was not in a Vegetative State. (Later he sheepishly admitted she was on Meet the Press.) Even Bush woke up in the middle of the night and stuck his nose in this by signing a law in his slippers.

Will you remember this fiascio when you vote on Election Day?

I think about Terri S. a lot . She was one of the most vulnerable people on earth. She had no living will only a husband that had washed his hands of her and her parents who did want her, well they didn't count. I think the republicans did an heroic thing to try and protect her. Why is it that democrats are so willing to kill the most vulnerable like unborn babies and Terri but not the most evil like terrorists?

If that is the kind of issue that will decide the next election, I feel sorry for America (by the way I would like to see the repubs lose control of both houses just as much as you do - but why not find some actual burning issues to vote on instead of this resorting to 'nya nya nya nya' kind of thing?
