Either as an artist or as a model.

I once had to dress as a faerie and hang around in a climbing harness from a ceiling for half an hour while I had pics taken.

And what would you do for arts sake?

Well, I (male) once modelled for an art student (female) making a video piece, in which I was required to be filmed in some woods, stripping slowly naked and then masturbating while the filmmaker watched (in camera shot)!
I gather that the piece was considered very thought provoking (issues of power and control, was she making him do it or was he forcing her to watch etc.) and was well received within the department. It also appeared in an exhibition of the students' work

I once did a performance in which I demonstrated that the best way to correct the notoriously faulty text of James Joyce's novel 'Ulysses' was to use your own blood as ink - that way you'd be much more careful to avoid errors.

It involved a copy of the book, a nib, a nib-holder, a surgical swab and a lancet. It also involved sticking a big needle into my thumb. Nobody actually threw up, but some people nearly did.

I'm a photographer and many people disagree with my choice to take pictures of a woman who appeared to be bleeding from the neck on the floor next to a smashed flowerpot (with a dead flower, no less)...

My other highly controversial picture was a woman giving birth with a man dressed in a doctor's coat holding a baseball glove...

I don't want to be an asshat, but I think the photographer is the artist in this case, not the model =)

My most unusual thing was one hour in which I spoke entirely to others in rhyming poetry. It was fun and irritating at the same time.

I once made a Rather phat paper machete hippo butt for a costume that my wife wore to a Halloween party. It was pink with a large red hand print on the right 'cheek'

Just for the sake of art my friends and I went for body painting and posed for some photos (for private eyes only) and the outcome were wonderful indeed.

For a class I had to paint my character-self, and it was really awkward to present it because it had to resemble our visage and our inner beast. I felt like a fool explaining that my character-self was a ninja and I had the blood of my abuser on myself and my knives. I got an A at least

They say that we all have a great fear of heights. So drink a bottle of Calvados and walk along the edge of a cliff. Don't turn your back on the cliff, you might fall offf the edge!

I was trying to make a model of my friend while it ended up looking like a pathetic bird.
