Lucky, the liberals are racing to the rescue, literally. The new Tesla hits the market in the coming few months, and this car is AWESOME...It's electric and gets about 250 miles per charge. It won't be cheap, but the demand will allow them to streamline their process and make more affordable cars in the future. Take a look....

good question. I drive a 99suzuki w/215k it gets around 50mpg when I drive it easy.Oh yes I'm sure were stuck on gasoline for a while . I understand that in europe there is interest in diesel hybrids . Problem here(US) is car develpoment is market driven. So if people feel they can afford to drive SUVs thats what will sell. I had a geo metro that averaged 50mpg .but who wants to drive something that tiny. besides me and a few others .I,m afraid that gas will have to sit at $5 a gallon before there is a major shift in car manufacture.

I read where ethanol won't be affordable for another 15 years. So the gasoline engine will be around for awhile. I will buy an economy car as soon as I can, and rent a comfy car for trips and such. People hauled their kids around in sedans station wagons and smaller cars for years, I don't know what happened that we all had to have buses to haul kids.

It's a bunch of bull. At least for years.
You can buy a fairly good hybrid for around $120,000.
That's why Democrats won't let us drill for oil. They want high gas prices.
