Well I don't know that you could have ended it differently. It was a true story about a man's life and death. He died in the end as he did in real life. You can't rewrite it and have him recover and do justice to the point of the story. I guess if you changed anything you could delve further into how his death affected those who loved him and if he affected change.

I would have had it all have been a dream of his student, and Morrie was alive and well in retirement. This is because I like happy endings, and it is so sad when we lose our loved ones.
I loved this book as is!
