I have an '83 380SEC and that has no speed limiter. I have seen 190kph indicated and the thing was still accellerating. At that point I began to run out of road and interest but things were OK handling wise. That's getting close to 120mph. Car was then 19 years old.

Ok land sea and air that is where the three points of the star is pointed. Why would you think antique car like that would want to be floored so long. I will wave as I drive past seeing that a connecting rod has smashed thru your engine block. Back in the mid 70's cars suffered fron emission controls. 4.5 liter V-8 mercedes was not exempt. The fastest car back 1969 to 1973 was the 500 SEB 6.3 liter Mercedes Benz mechanical fuel injection four speed automatic and really large engine. Those sedans really hauled! I bet your trying to get a five cyl 300s diesel to go fast.
