I always assemble my PCs. There isn't a huge cost difference, but it guarantees I will get what I want how I want it. I also get to choose a motherboard with solid upgrade potential and a case that is easy to get into.
Store bought PCs often use crappy micro-atx cases. You have to practically disassemble those things just to reach the memory. Bought computers also use proprietory PSUs, and cases which means you're screwed if your PSU dies.

I know people who do both and have had good luck with both.. but with computers not that expensive anymore.. I prefer to buy already assembled.

My brother assembled it for himself and then I bought it from him. But my next PC will be one that I assemble myself.

mine was assembled by someone but i really dont like the computer and i have learn enough to build my own computer so i might build a computer of my own in while because i know the parts i need

I bought mine (IBM Aptiva) almost 7 years ago. It is very dated.
Am looking at buying a new one, possibly for Christmas.
