I am starting a new football team next season and need to raise about £5k - I am already planning to raise £2.5k from the player in the form of subs and signing on fees. But don't want to keep hitting them in the pocket.

Any ideas?

THE ONLY OTHER THING THAT YOU CAN DO FROM THE PLAYERS IS TO HAVE ONE TEAM MEMBER NOMINATE AN ITEM AT THE END OF EACH MATCH. I.E A CHAIR OR A SNOOKER BALL IF THE REST OF THE TEAM MEMBERS DONT ATTEND THE NEXT MATCH OR TRAINING WITH THIS ITEM THEN THEY ARE FINNED £1.00 OR £1.50 ITS VERY FUNNY MY TEAM IN ANDOVER HAMPSHIRE ENGLAND DO IT ALL THE TIME AND THE TEAM RAISE LOADS OF MONEY.

Mate, done it a couple of seasons ago. The best way to raise the cash is if you've got a club house. Do a race night (the rental is cheap for the projector and the DVD under 20) you can make a fortune. We done parties and a few gentlemans evenings. Just spread the word round to people you know.
Also we done games at the club house after, list the games for the next week everyone picks 1 for a quid. Half the money as prize and half to the club.
Hope they help, all cheap to do and raise a lot of dosh

Fundraisers.
Splat the manager
Race night
Raffle/tombola after each home match.
Sponsership
Create a magazine/newsletter and find advertisers
Parties, xmas etc where you charge for tickets.
Quizes on a footie theme!
Any village fairs you can get involved in.

My dad ran a team for years, I had to do them all!
Good luck!

They cannot get any more money - they need to get better at bringing on youth like the Dutch do which will in the long term help Scottish football

how about asking someone to sponser you,or donate a rather lucritive prize that you can raffle.or hold some functions as fundraisers, but your best bet is getting plenty of sponsers ,ask local businesses and do some free advertising for them etc.
