I hople people would leave God alone when answering this question, but I bet they will blame him for whatever they want to believe, I think everyone should be with the person that makes them happy, gay people should have that right too, they suffer a lot already, let them get married! like my best friend says "I'm not married because I choose not to be" gay people should be able to decide if they want to get married or not.

I am FOR gay marriage. I believe that they should have legal rights just as any other couple.
The whole foundation that they should not be married is based on Religious Crapola. I'm not a fan of any holy book, they are all based in fables, and were created to control other people.
I don't believe that being gay is a sin.
Some people think that gay marriage takes away somehow from a heterosexual marriage - that is ridiculous.
Imagine sharing your life, your money - EVERYTHING - your Whole life - & haveing no right to be with them in the hospital, or to leave them property (as you would with any other spousal situation) On and and on and on. The sin is not giving ALL married couples Legal Rights!

If two people are in love, I don't think anyone should have a say in if they marry or not. I think it is rediculus that people waste their energy in trying to stop two people from joining. There are so many terrible things going on in the world, they should try to stop those things. Love cannot be bad! I do not condone making out in public, by anyone, gay or straight. I think it is rude and discusting.
They aren't bothering anyone, so who cares!
Ok I just read your other answers and I guess you would get some religious people talking about God. I doubt gay people believe in God, (because he doesn't accept them) and marriage isn't only about religion and God. I am a married athiest. You can get married by a JP and keep it out of the church! I thought God was supposed to accept everyone??

I think the term "civil union" makes more sense. Since religious people cannot accept marriage for gay people, I think gays should have an equivalent union with the same legal rights and benefits. Just don't define it as marriage.
If gay people would stop fighting for "marriage" and go for "civil union" so much of the resistance would stop. Religious people would not have the grounds to protest it on.
I am all for gay people having rights and peace in their lives. I don't understand those who are against them. I respect anyone, as a person, unless they show me they are not worthy of that respect.

Since people have no choice in the matter of being gay, why deny them the right to marry? Marriage is not a religious institution, it is a legal one, so religious views on the matter should not prevent the availability of marriage licenses to gay couples.

I believe gays have as much rights as straights do, but if they want to be "married" they should call it another term, just not marriage. Marriage is the unification between a man and a woman under God, and has been practiced from the beginning of time. Therefore I believe if gays want to be "married", they should simply call it something else, but ultimately should be granted with the same rights as straights.

Because marriage is a religious institution and the majority of the world (Christians, Jews and Muslims) see homosexuality as a sin.
I have nothing against gay people, and I wont discriminate. But I think the lifestyle choice they made is wrong and our government shouldn't support it.
I DO, think we need to recognize there are gay families and give them benefits they need to survive. But not through marriage.

I used to be against it, but if you think about it, once you take away one right where do you stop? Do we go back to taking away womens right to vote? Blacks in the back of the bus?
The whole point of our democracy is to keep everyone equal and extend freedom to all. Just because Bush wants to prevent that just because the bible-thumpers vote for him, that doesn't make it right. This sort of parallels the right to life debate. Should abortion be illegal in America?
Shouldn't it be the right of every woman to make that sort of decision for herself? Why should that right be taken away by politicians or by voters?
A person can never have too many rights or freedoms. A person can always have too few. All you have to do to realize that is compare our society to a communist one.

Against .............The natural law of nature that God created does not include same sex relations . Genesis 1 : 27 - 28...So God created man in his own image , in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them . And God blessed them , and God said unto them , be fruitful and "multiply" , and replentish the earth and subue it : and have dominion over the fish of the sea , and over the fowl of the air , and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth .....Genesis 2 : 23 - 24...And Adam said , This is now bone of my bones , and flesh of my flesh : she shall be called "Woman" , because "she" was taken out of man . therefore shall a man leave his father and mother , and shall cleave unto his "wife" : and they shall be "one" flesh.............As you can see , from the beginning of time it is HE & SHE !!!!.......God hates the "sin" , not the person , man seperates himself from God , God does seperate Himself from Man . Man uses his "free will " and arrogance to do as he pleases , and wants to answer to no one ..Man chooses to be seperate from Gods` Law . ..You will reap what you sow !!!
