How long have u had it. if youve had it a year it means the battery (the real battery inside) is gone. take it to the apple place and pay 100$ for the battery. or it also happened to mine. leave the pod there for a while it will recover dont plug it in

There are a lot of small companies popping up to fix ipods because they are actually quite fragile.
google 'ipod repair' and you will find a bunch of them.

have you tried to reset it. you will not lose any of your music. lay it on a flat surface. depress the middle button and menu button at the same time. while you have them pushed, slide the hold button to hold and then back to the regular position. Hope this helps
