'Boredom' is a listless person with bad eyesight and hairs growing on the palms of their hands.
If one 'needs' input to cure ones self of boredom, then it suggests a great deal about the internal world of the individual.
Anything 'negative,' by definition, also has a 'positive.' So, hows about I suggests to you that in order to 'cure' yourself of the possibility of boredom, you go seek the positives in the negatives!
There, that should keep you out of mischief and off the streets.
Best of luck.
Sash.

Boredom, to me, is when I have to do one thing but really want to do another. The task I have to do becomes awful and I can work up no enthusiasm for doing it. Its a nuisance because if I could get a bit interested in it, it would be done more quickly thus allowing me to pursue my real interest. I can't imagine not wanting to do anything at all.

Boredom is when you are not interested in what you do. It is not the input that matters it is the disinterested mind that counts. The mind that is bored is not curious and observant. Curiosity is the interest to learn anything, it is the origin of intelligence.

I think boredom is sort of a state of laziness, wanting something or someone outside your self...to entertain you.
Like your just sitting in your chair being bored ... but would cheer right up if a chorus line of tap dancers came dancing in with Red sequined Top Hats, red patent leather shoes and short skirts.
And when they leave...you are bored again.

I was always bored and a friend told me I was boring. Years later I left my hometown and found that I was not bored, thus not boring. Boring stuff is not positive or negative. It is due to a lack of stimulus.

not all input will cure boredom - it is a lack of cathartic stimulus, a lack of feeling excited or interested.
