Why do america pick on the middle east?

They say its because they suspect these countries of having "weapons of mass destruction" but hang on....America AND Britain have them too.

Or they say "because they are living under a dictatorship"... but there were times when China and Russia were too, but they didnt declare war on them for those reasons.

Simply because the middle east has 'gold' - "Black Gold" in them there hills....
It's painfully obvious to everyone in the World, except two misguided fools (Bush & Blair) that the illegal invasion of Iraq was to steel the countries rich oil resources. The cover story, as you know, was to find Saddams WMD's and to oust the said dictator. For the record, they still haven't found any WMD's, but they'll keep searching, to justify the War.

I'd just like to say look at all the racist and simply retarded answers that assume that everyone from the Middle East makes a habit of flying planes into buildings in the US and that all Muslims love Bin Laden - the truth is that most Muslims and Middle Easterns just want to go about their own lives and do not want to cause trouble; however the media don't cover that: the news will NEVER show the innocent and hard working non-terrorist Muslims and Middle Easterns because that doesn't make for a good story. So in turn, the only Muslims and Middle Easterns many people hear of are terrorists, which unfortunately sparks racist ideas. What people have to remember is although maybe 90% of terrorists are Muslim, 99% of Muslims are not terrorists.

And why is America going into the Middle East you ask? Well to be honest nobody actually knows (apart from perhaps Mr Bush), people can only speculate. Perhaps America and (to a lesser extent) the UK did only do it to help people, and to an extent they have done that: people no longer live in fear of Sadam. However, what their Middle Eastern interests are now cannot be fully proved one way or another; looks like we'll have to wait it out to find out what the final results will be.

I totally agree on those points, and that there's alot of reasons, with the major one being oil and the others just being too crazy for people here to believe or even hear without thinking I'm another wacko kid with a conspiracy theory or a guy who's read to many comics. I'm an American born Muslim, and I'm not exactly proud of the US or most of the major world powers right now. But the thing is, we shouldn't all be represented by our president. he only won by one electoral vote in both elections, and that's just sad. I feel the same way about us all being represented by al qaeda and the other people like that. and to the people posting about Muslim countries not being 'mature' enough to have nuclear weapons being a good excuse for attacking them; In case you didn't notice, the US was the only country to ever use nukes on an enemy. If anything, we should be the ones without it.

Sure, America has WOMD, but we're more responsible than countries run by insane dictators who kill people for stealing fruit. And also, China and Russia were in dictatorship in times of great WAR. There's a difference between Civilized countries having Nukes (like the US or Britain) and islamo-facist dictatorships possessing them, and selling to terrorist organizations that would use these weapons to kill as many people as possible. That's kind of a DUH-question.
The second thing is, the Free World is in a war on Terror, not on every country in the middle east (I suppose it's a coincidence that most terrorism originates from the middleast?), Communist governments don't subsidize or fund terrorism by the most part, and the USSR certainly did not. China eventually will become a free country as well, it's only a matter of time.

Because we can, plain and simple. We are the biggest, baddest bully on the play ground and we want it all. Whats wrong with that? That's the way the world has always worked... Roman Empire, Greece, Persian Empire,... all throughout history the most powerful nations conquered and took what they wanted, ruled the people they way they wanted to. well concerning this war, we didn't 'pick' on them till they attacked us...but apparently we could have prevented it
