Ok look, I Know Sean is The Man. He was the 1st & most people on the planet consider him The Bond of all Bonds...& I can totally understand that. He's cool...but not my favorite.
That position is for Roger Moore in my book!
He's the Bond *I* grew up with. My 1st Bond film on the big screen was "The Spy Who Loved Me". (1977)
Roger was the longest running Bond, he was the 1st (until soon), onlt *true* Englishman of the bunch. The rest were Scottish, Irish, Welsh, etc.
Don't care what anyone says, but Roger's Lotus Esprit beats all of the rest. The one that converted to a submarine! That thing still looks cool today!

And if we're comparing Sean's Bond & Roger's, I'll have Roger's Nice Guy Bond. Sean went around slapping women. Wrong. Roger's Bond would make em laugh.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! "THE SPY WHO LOVED ME" WAS MY FIRST, TOO. MOORE IS BRITISH, EXTREMELY HANDSOME, MANLY YET TENDER, CLEVER AND FUNNY - HE IS THE TOTAL BOND PACKAGE - AND I HAVE NEVER REALLY LIKED A BOND MOVIE SINCE HIM!

Hey, I'm all for the man too. He brought a sense of dignity to the role that had been lacking previously. And the man could act! Always playing it cool and serious, even when the chips were down. Now, he's no Sean, but at least he's no Roger Moore.
Wait, what's that? He IS Roger Moore? Oh. Um, nevermind. I own Octopussy on VHS. I own all the REAL Bonds on DVD, including OHMSS. Now Lazenby, that's a cool guy.

James Bond is by far my favorite movie series. I remember waiting so anxiously for the newest one to come out and I would always go with my dad (also a big fan and one time spy himself - at least that's the story he always told me ;) They were always my favorite dates!
Sean was by far the best looking Bond, but I do agree that he had an edge to him I never liked. Roger made the woman he was with (at the moment) feel like she was something special.
I have to say after all the hype and anticipation of Pierce Brosnan, I was a bit disappointed, Bond isn't supposed to grunt and groan when he's hit, even if he is being tortured! (But I'm old school :) )

Whoa... hold the phone there.
Roger slapped a few biotches in his day aswell. Remember the Man with the Golden Gun? Scaramanga's mistress? He slapped her around.
Get your facts straight.
I like Roger too. He was the Bond I grew up with, but Sean, Pierce, Tim and George turn in some good performances.

I liked Moore. He knew how to be charming, but when it came down to business he was serious about catching his bad man (See "For your eyes Only" and how he acted toward "the Dove"). Moore was good as "The Saint" which probably landed him his well deserved roll as Bond for 10 plus years. My favorite is Octopussy. He played against Louie Jordon as the villian.

I particularly enjoyed Roger Moore in Live and Let Die... when he jumps on those alligators, one after the other to escape, well, it's a very memorable moment at the movies!

Yes! Roger is the one I grew up with. He also was the first to swap spit with a black lady (Live and Let Die) He jumped off the top of the world (Spy) He made love in zero gravity (Moonraker) and he wrestled Grace Jones onto satin sheets (View to A Kill) and never ever messed his hair.
SMOOOOOTH guy!

Yes, Roger was nice and funny.....but do you want your spy to be that way in the real world?.....No!...You want your spy to be ruthless and cunning. A man who knows he has to do anything it takes to get the job done!....That's why Connery was the best.
