Notebooks and laptops are the same thing. However notebooks are never bigger or heavier. There have been some extremely huge laptops that are about 14 pounds with 2 hard drives and crazy graphic cards that basically run like a desktop...a very convinient one. The one different laptop is the tablet, on which you can write on much like a digital notebook. Tablets also have a feature that allows you to twist, invert, and manipulate your screen so that you can fold your laptop with the screen up and other things that make college life so much easier, especially in calculus and engineering classes. Other than that, notebooks and laptops are essentially the same.

No difference in the current day and age. When they started calling notebooks, they were superthin laptops.
