I think we are pretty much breathing. Whether you are alive or dead can be looked at in a countless of ways. "Life is just a dream on the way to death" Maybe we are all just dreaming.

We all die eventually, but we can't be dead yet. If we were already dead, we wouldn't be able to die again. After we pass, I think we learn the truth, but we have to learn joy while we are here on Earth, otherwise there would be nothing to really live for.
