My CD drive burns data files fine to CD and DVD but not audio. The dive is a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ825s and the software I've tried is either Power To Go or Windows media player. The file type is WMA. Windows media player says 'No CD or DVD burner has been detected'

Yikes, two bad answers. Cd burners don't have drivers. Windows does it for you. Looks like windows media player is not compatible with your burner. I never used Power To Go, but in the menu options make sure you choose audio cd as the format. My guess is Power To Go doesn't support WMA files. Use nero. www.ahead.de

Try burning a audio cd in the lowest speed available recommended 4x or 8x speed. Select the option audio cd while writing.

Try this option out.

You need to go into the Device Manager, reinstall your burners' drivers, then restart your computer.
