Chav or any other culture has nothing to do with government. People create their own culture and if they want to wear pink track suits, so what! The worse case of chav is the guy with the Rolls Royce and a personalised number plate - that is really chav.

You can find out about chav culture at www.chavscum.co.uk

It used to be that the working class were seen as salt of the earth and respected for being the cornerstone of society. Since Maggie Thatcher's war on the workers in the 80's, the working class have been demonised and vilified in the press and elsewhere as uncultured, dim, smelly, violent, criminally minded druggies. This appellation, "Chav" is just the latest manifestation of an upper class process of putting the boot into the lower orders, sneering and laughing at those who do not happen to have mainstream values. There are a few "chavs" with a law and order attitude, but there are certainly not as many law breakers amongst the workers as there is amongst the middle classes, no matter what the Daily Mail says. There are a lot more drugs in middle class areas than working class ones, and also more violent crime amongst the middle class as well. As to what the Government should do about it, it is nothing to do with them, it is none of their buisiness.

It is not for Governments to do anything about so - called 'cultures'

They are what they are - a fad - a phase and will go of their own accord only to be replaced with something else.

Anywho decided to flag it up as a 'culture' - the Press?
What do they know? Apart from making up stuff to boost their sales. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the media announce the death of 'chavism' so they could launch the next fad upon us

Nothing, because if you try and stop them they will multiply more and they wont tp theyll get worse. You tell someone not to do something and they will but worse lol. Besides i suppose everyone can be who they want, its just you would have thought theyd have picked something better than a chav lol

Have you ever seen that film 'Escape from New York'? thats where they use manhattan Island as a huge prison to just dump all the scumbags in, we could do the same with some crappy island off the coast of Northern Scotland.

Either that or they could allow all those over priviledged tossers that used to hunt foxes to hunt them down with packs of dogs and tear them to bits when they catch them, kill two birds with one stone - keep the hunters happy and rid the country of a social underclass!!

I ought to be a politician me ;)

We are calling every single poor person a chav so we can dispise them, and terrify ourselves into not giving a fk.

I would love to be entirely honest, but morality does not allow. I feel they represent the very worst elements of our culture and should be lucky that euthanasia is still of the statute books

Nothing, it is just that, a culture or sub-culture. With an ever changing society it will just eventually fade out, and something new will take its place.
