Nope that just does not cut it!! When replacing the bearings you need to maching the other surface like the crank because it probably has uneven wear signs on it!! If you are going to do it you might as well do it right and do a full rebuild!! Good luck!!!

Do you getr a knocking noise from the engine? If its only low oil pressure then you need to fined the cause of low pressure. You can have anything from a bad oil pump to a clogged oil screen. Fix the problem 1st. But if you get a constant rapping noise, just changing the spun bearings would help you temporarily. Fix it and trade it in for another car. Dont keep throwing money into the pit.
good luck

you willl come out better by rebuilding the motor, than patch work. also you may just replace the oil pump and it will do it. more than likely tho the cam shaft bushings are wore so bad. making it lose oil pressure also. if you rebuild the top end it weakens the low end if you rebuild the low end it weakens the top end, so your best bet is either rebuild the entire engine or buy a second hand motor with a 90 day warranty. thats the cheapest way out.

Yes, bearings that are worn out can cause low oil pressure. Anybody says different is no mechanic. Replace crank and cam bearings and I would go ahead and replace the oil pump. You may find a clogged up oil pump screen causing your problem. I have seen this many times.

If the pressure is low because of main and rod bearings, you'd be EXTREMELY lucky to get long term repair out of just bearing replacement as the crankshaft is most likely worn too.

You could. But I guarantee something bad will go wrong with your engine and you'll be kicking yourself for not fixing that while the engine was apart for the bearings.
The idea is, as long as you're in there, do it right so you don't have to tear it apart again.

Bearings will not do it. You most likely need rings and valve seats.
