I am seriously asking this as a question. I don't believe that making abortion illegal is going to magically make abortion disappear. Plenty of things are illegal but they still exist, such as drugs. If abortions were made illegal, desperate women will use desperate measures to perform abortions. I believe that we would just return to the pre-Roe v. Wade days, when women used hangers or other sharp objects and unsafe back-alley abortionists. This can cause deformity or death to both the mother and the fetus. In my opinion, making abortion illegal will not stop abortion. It will only stop safe abortion. What do you think?

Sorry. I meant "Do pro-life people believe that abortions will stop if they are illegal?" Honest mistake. I apologize for any confusion.

I figured you were adressing pro-life people, by the gist of your comment.
The pro-life point of view, I guess, is that making abortion illegal would greatly diminish the number of abortions. On the other hand, the question of illegal abortions being dangerous is an important one. I think most pro-life activists today would try to have laws passed that would restrict abortions to certain situaitons.
(I am a prolifer by the way). There really is not an easy answer. The same kind of questions could be asked about legalizing drugs so they can be controlled, be cheaper to avoid crime and prostitution and more pushing to pay one's drugs, and safer. I'm not sure I would be comfortable with legalizing drugs, but those would be compelling reasons - and I do believe there is a parallel between the two issues.

There's more involved than just enjoying dead babies.
There's is big money in abortions. Millions.
Lots of people are getting rich off it.
The Democrat Party gets millions each election from the Abortion People.
As long as there's millions of dollars to be made each year, there will be abortions.
It's big business. Probably some unions involved too.

and as you have seen the Pro lifers that claim to want to stop abortions have had power for 6 years they have the presidency ( he seems to do as he pleases) the congress and the senate as well as control of the supreme court so if they really wanted to "stop abortions" why haven't they passed a law yet? I'll give you a hint. there are allot of Americans that vote by what they think the political party is "for" so as long as they can keep and make an issue of abortion they will never make it illegal. watch and learn, keep your eyes open and see what is actually going on around you

Abortion is flat out wrong, and so I am in favor of doing anything to stop it. There is no doubt that the number of abortions will decrease. As for those who commit "back alley" abortions, it's their fault and only do it to themselves- by having sex- and I really pitty them for being so stupid and harming their own bodies.

well Tara it is the same today as before Roe. woman who have legal abortion are killed.they are permantly damaged by abortions so they can not have children. about 20% of woman will have long term mental problems. so to think that abortion is safe is just fallacy.

Actually, the very stance of pro choice people is that unwanted pregnancies WILL be terminated, so it is a lesser evil if abortions are legal and performed in a strictly medicated environment.

I think you mean, pro-life people stoping abortions. And, now, we have already seen that making abortions illegal will just drive people to other means of getting them done.
Even in states where it is illegal, people will go to nearby state to have one done.
