I got that question from this article.

I am not even a teacher and I want to keep a bat inside my car just in case. You never know what will happen.

Or am I crazy?

NO! I think teachers should NOT be allowed to have a gun in school. What the schools need is better security, and an armed certified school security guard or police officer who knows what to do in a situation when a student or trespasser enters the school with a gun and use's it. Most schools have security guards, but most are not armed with a gun.

Think of how many teachers there are. There are THOUSANDS all across the country. Teachers are normal human beings just like you and me. And we all know some "normal human beings" out there are crazy people. Not all teachers teach because they love children and teaching. There's been ton's of cases of teachers who have sexual relationships with children. That's pretty messed up . . . imagine what would happen if some crazy teacher (who seems normal to most people) took out a gun and started firing at a class of 30 12 year olds.

It just doesn't seem right to me. I've seen tons of teachers that I haven't felt comfortable with because they seem weird, if I knew they might have a gun, I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my work. It's just not right.

Simply;
No to Guns, and No You are Not Crazy, your bat in the car is a good idea. My baby rides with me, a "Great Dane" I never have had any problems.

Seriously, schools have become a dangerous place in the past few years, its really ridiculous, that such brainless behavior is on-going. I truly believe that teachers, should be carrying Pepper Spray, but only after they have taken a Self Defense - Pepper Spray Class, or workshops..

in case you're nervous that the extensive-unfold instructor is going to shoot Little Johnny for no longer doing his homework, i'd say your college district has greater issues than the obtrusive. A gun is a user-friendly device, and it does no longer something until the guy wearing it places it to apply. announcing it rather is a step returned because of the fact of a few means harm would be extra desirable if used on something extra risky, like a set of motor vehicle keys. that's rather a non-situation, different than that on the uncommon party once you desire a handgun, you want it very badly, and right this moment. I do in basic terms no longer see any genuine draw back to the allowance, nonetheless I doubt many instructors will honestly carry a gun.

well i believe in the right to bear arms, but lets take for example a teacher carries a firearm into a classroom , obviously a student isn't allowed. so the student whom might commit an act of violence wrestles the teacher to the ground and takes the teachers' gun. it's open season. the right to bear arms is a catch 22. your damned if you do, damned if you don't

I think all adults should carry guns, as is their perfectly lawful right, guaranteed by the Constitution and obliterated by the US Tyranny.
